Day of Silence, Day of Truth by Durkee341 Day of Silence, Day of Truth by Durkee341
Sort of like a mock debate between "Days".

I'm not bashing Christians here. Sure, my bias is in favor of the Day of Silence because it's about love and awareness and not about intolerance or conversion or even religious beliefs, but I've tried to keep the flavor and the opinions within the arguments on both sides accurate (if extrapolated-- call it artistic license.)

So anywho, enjoy, and remember to wear red on the 25th :)

Both sides of the gay debate are retarded.

my friends and i participated in the day of silence. we had papers that explained what we where doing, most people didn't even read the whole thing. some would respect us and what we were doing some even also participated and others felt the need to put in their own rude bible-thummping unnecessary opinion it's a bit annoying to know that some love is "unholy" :(

Agreed. My experience was about the same when I participated in it at a campus that was (and is still) so bible-thumpy that they practically have a daily abortion rally.

Very true. Very true. Also, some Christians forget that Jesus said "love everyone"; I don't think that meant no LGBT(etc) people. We are all human.

That's cool :)
I'm a Christian who is pro-gay rights, and I couldn't help but burst out laughing at the Day of Truth website. It's so funny how they're all "Homosexuality is a sin and you'll burn in He** for it but you still have time to go back" even though people are born gay o.0

ugh. I hate when religous fanatics get all uppity about LGBT. I have a devout christian grandmother, mother, and friend, and all 3 accept my bisexuality. love the 'argument' how it's back and forth

Mwaha. I'm a firm non-believer of any god. And I do have something against religion, it's just an escapism from the facts. Our minds are not SACRED SOULS OF GREAT IMPORTANCE but rather a well evolved defense system. The funny thing is that our minds and UNIQUE personalities are all greatly praised and treasured, but in fact is quite irrelevant. Still don't get me wrong, I'm FAAAA-AAR from a pessimist, I'm the opposite, I LOVE LIFE and I love everyone in the world just for being who they are. Even if I hate most of them. For the reason I hate them is because I care and I wish for them to become more like me "REPRODUCTIVE INSTINCTS - HOOOOOO!".

Err, and the point of this comment is: The problems of communication in this world is not vs the haters and the love and accept everything bandwagon of stale. But it's toward understanding the basis of hate. PROTECT THE NORM FOR THE GREATER GOOD.

btw there was many guys like "Jesus" living at that time, all of them with their small religions and self-proclaimed messiah titles. Only thing that made Jesus so special was that he was sentenced to death and thus his groupies used him as a martyr and so on made a religion based upon "HE FUCKING DIED FOR YOUR SINS YOU BITCH, YOU BETTER FEEL SORRY FOR HIM AND WORSHIP HIM!!!!".

Err in the end I just feel like saying that I respect everyones attunement to this world, they can take what they want, but I'm going to fucking complain when they hold something that's according to my information and experience, a really shitty thing.

And yes, I like writing wall of text rants of doom completely unprovoked in the morning when I'm going to have a maths test that I should be training for.

This is very beautiful and so full of truth. I would not consider myself Christian but I do believe in God and all that. I dont much read the bible and I only hear what people say. I have heard it is wrong to be gay, but from my understanding God gave us a choice to be what we wanted to be. There is no sin in that. I do hope that one day more people can see it that way. Wonderful poem.

Thanks for the feedback! No worries, I'm not Christian either, but I try to keep an open mind to all paths, especially their traditional and unedited writings. I think Jesus was a great guy, and I think the sacrifice he made was incredible, even outside any religious context-- to believe so fully in your cause that you would sacrifice yourself to give a good and pure movement of thought the kickstart it needed is absolutely incredible and shows a strength of character that demands respect. Unfortunately, all good things tend to get perverted over time. Haha, I could go on and on in that vein, but I'll keep it short. Thanks for the support, the comment, and the praise!
